Throw away politicians and rich people from sports bodies and get the sports persons in

What a mess IPL has become. We had been thrown out of Olympic body too. Talented sports persons are in the grip of politicians and rich people. This is bad for the health of the games. It gives the impression that sports is still run on the whims of feudal lords.

We need to run the sports bodies by admitting only the sports persons - present and past as full member. The management talent should be hired. If any one is keen to run the federation, he should be appointed full time as an officer (an employee) drawing competitive salary and elected members of governing body should be limiting themselves to policies and not with day-to-day operations. Code of conduct needs to be created as for running the companies where the Management and Ownership is distanced. The governing body should be only from the players who have represented India and the respective state for a qualifying period of at least three years membership. Other interested people can join the association /federation as associate members but with no voting rights. Their membership is like club membership. You get to have the facility and interaction but no say in running the association.
